Partner With Youth (PWY) & High Harbour Update

1. Per request, I am listing below the current standings in the PWY Tribal competition for the Cherokee Expedition. (Remember, this is based on a

percentage of # of families in tribe to # contributing to the PWY program)

These standings are currents through today:

Chickasaw 80%

Seminole 64%

Creek (guides) 53%

Shawnee 44%

Blackfeet 37%

Cheyenne 24%

Sioux 14%

Fox 6%

Mohawk 6%

Lakhota 4%

The final day to contribute and help your tribe in this competition is Monday, April 28. "Top Tribe" plaque presentation will be Saturday a.m. at High Harbour waterfront...see ya there!

2. High Harbour registration:

We are completely full for this event at 270 slots!! At this time, REGISTRATION FOR THIS EVENT IS CLOSED and we will not accept any more registration forms. I did start a waitlist for this event, but please be advised that THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT ANYONE

WILL BE PULLED FROM THIS LIST. I did this just in case anyone had to cancel or pull out at the last minute. Please do not have waitlist people contact the YMCA...I will make calls either Tuesday or Wednesday to notify people if an opening has occurred.

I know we have members that were not able to get in this year, and I am sorry that is the way it turned out. However, we did state on the

registration form and in numerous Longhouse meetings, etc. that we had LIMITED SPACE, AND REGISTRATION IS ON A FIRSTCOME, FIRST SERVE BASIS.

For next year, (since we continue to grow) we will need to discuss possibly having a Fall and Spring camp out at High Harbour.

3. High Harbour agenda updates:

Chiefs: There was a request to have the earliest arrival time at High Harbour be 5:30 p.m. on Friday, May 2. This is okay with them, but please

do not get there any earlier than that. The Trailblazers/mates will be able to have a special dinner just for them on Saturday at 6:15 p.m. at the Outdoor Coliseum. We did this last year, and it woked very well. If you haven't already, please remember to get me names of Dads/kids to break arrow ASAP, as I will need a count for arrow supplies, etc.

High Harbour is working on booking Mark Manual again for our Saturday night entertainment, after the broken arrow ceremony. Immediately following this, we will have the "Dad band" perform a few songs.

4. Tribal council recognition:

I would also like to recognize the Tribal Council members & their kids at 9:45 a.m. Saturday morning, with the Expedition

in attendance. We will do this immediately following the PWY "Top Tribe" presentation. Please be sure to let all tribe members know as they do not want to miss this!

5. Cabin assignments:

I have a guarantee from High Harbour staff that the capacity number listed for each cabin is accurate, and will have a bed for

each person assigned. In order to make it easy and so everyone will know which cabin they are in, I will list names of all members that are to bunk in that cabin/bunk room for the weekend. Members will be able to get a copy of the listing at Friday check-in at the Chapel. We will also post the listings on the outside of the cabins for all to see. Hopefully, using this process, we will not run into any issues concerning a shortage of beds, like last year.

That's all for now! If you are registered for High Harbour, look for confirmation letters to be mailed out on Tuesday, April 29.

Have a great weekend!
