Please remember that to accommodate everyone, each site MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 5 PEOPLE PER SITE!  This means  that Dads with 1 child will need to pair up with other members of their tribe, so please try to coordinate prior to arrival.

Maximums per site:  6 people; 2 tents; 2 vehicles.

Parking fee:  $2 per vehicle

Here are more details about the activities which are available on our weekend:

  1. I asked the park staff about the Nation having a bonfire, and the only fire allowed is the one in your campsite fire ring...sorry!

  2. Horseback riding:  There are stables approximately 1 mile from the park at the Cohutta Lodge Wilderness Stables.  (706) 695-Barn

Cohutta Lodge website:  www.cohuttalodge.com

Trail ride costs are as follows:

  • Lodge property $30 per hour

  • US Forestry property  $35 per hour

  • They do offer a discount rate of 5 % off of total bill for groups of 3 or over.

  • Please contact them directly if you need further information.

  1. Park Lake and beach swimming:  The beach will be open, and it includes the following activities in the area:

  • Paddle boats & john boats rentals - $5 for every 1/2 hour

  • Putt-putt golf (cost not available)

  • A concession stand will also be open, and this is where you go for all rentals.

  • Biking:  no rentals at the park, must bring your own.  The Lake Loop trail is free, but on the mountain bike trails, there is a fee of $2 per bike.  (I was advised that the mtn. bike trails are pretty difficult, so you may want to stick to the Lake Loop!)
